This last Monday, I snapped the above shot of a “Strawberry Moon,” which is simply what June’s full moon phase is sometimes referred to. This year’s was a bit special, however, in that it landed on the summer solstice, as well. I couldn’t get a shot of it just as it rose from the horizon, which would have offered an even rosier coloration, but it was pretty darn big that night and allowed for a fairly detailed image — if only my focus had been just a hair better :(.
Then, late last night as I drove home from a great beach-day/bonfire-night, I noticed that the moon was once again hung in spectacular fashion in the night sky. I think this moon was even more beautiful than the previous “big deal” event, so I took care to frame it here for ya in a more aesthetically pleasing manner. I thought it looked darn lovely last night, so I hope I was able to capture it in such a way that it pleases your ocular globes as well as it did mine!
Just a quick post in-between working on another art project.. one I hope y’all get to see sooner rather than later :).
