Out Of The Box – 095

Out of the Box comic 095 September Hooligans

That’s nice guys.

Not sure what they’re talking about?  After the terrorist attacks on the US in September 2001, someone placed an American flag on a giant piece of driftwood on a beach here in San Clemente.  It’s still around today, and the local community has taken it upon themselves to care for it ever since… first moving the giant dead tree when the changing tide threatened it, and then later building a memorial around it.  During the night before the anniversary of the attacks, some lame people (probably bored/angry/angst-ridden kids) went and smashed the memorial up.  Obviously, the police investigation is ongoing, but these kind of things are usually done by locals.. which, I’m sure, makes it even more disheartening for the folks who have put so much time, money, and effort into this little memorial.
