Dim Turned Black

I’ve talked about art before, though rarely in a positive light.  I have no real appreciation for art that can’t be easily defined or explained, and that makes this new blog series o’mine all the more ironic.  On the chance that someone else can enjoy it, though, here is where I’m going to share things that I’ve drawn, even though I most likely think they’re all cheesy/ugly/artsy-fartsy crap – hence the title :).

Sparked by my interest to start painting digitally (thanks to Danny, certainly), and inspired by the beautiful song that I’ve been listening to for the past few days (posted below), I created this:

Dim Turned Black

Discovered through its use in a movie trailer, I couldn’t tell you how many times I’ve played Johann Johannsson’s “Sun’s Gone Dim” since looking it up the other day.  The video is rather mad, but you don’t have to watch… just listen, as the above artwork is directly connected to it, both in definition and tone.
