TCM Festival 2010

Metropolis, Clint Eastwood in The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly, and King Kong

King Kong,
The Good, The Bad and The Ugly
(featuring a live talk with Eli "Tuco" Wallach),
and Metroplis (with live orchestra)

…on the big screen??  Yes, please.

Turner Classic Movies is holding a classic film festival in Hollywood April 22-25, featuring these fantastic movies, and many others, in great old theaters like Grauman’s Chinese.  To see the movie that spawned so much of my love for stop-motion (King Kong) and my favorite western (and one of my favorite movies, in general, The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly) on the big screen would be an absolute dream.  Having the wonderful Eli Wallach there and hearing a live orchestra play along with Metropolis is just the icing on the cake.  The only hiccup?  The cheapest festival pass costs $500.

If any of you care to join me, though, I may very well head up to Hollywood and try to buy regular tickets for those movies the day-of.  And if any of you have a current student ID, and care to join me, I’ll like you even more because of your half-off discount ;).
