Busy Without The Bucks

I know things around here are a bit quiet, lately.  I haven’t even shifted my top banner in months.  So, to my loyal (and sometimes annoying with their random comment complaints on random posts) readers (hi, Nick), I’m sorry.  Sort of in the way that a number of factors are finally coming to head to begin closing off Blockbuster stores (general economy, bad corporate decisions, the change to digital media), things are coinciding to keep me out of the hilarious-or-thought-provoking-blog-writing phase as of late.  I’m not getting free rentals anymore, so there goes the weekly DVD reviews.  I’ve been tightening the budgetary belt, which means I haven’t been seeing as many movies in theaters lately as I’d like, so that cuts down on regular reviews.  To top it all off, I’ve picked up some extra hours at work covering for folks or just helping out, my recent purchase, Rock Band 2, has distracted me for a few days, and I’m working on a new script (part of the Let’s Make Movies project, but I’ll let you know about it here when I have a finished draft).  So, all in all, things are coming together to create… silence.  I had a great time put a lot of hard work into my “Oh, Giada” post, and while putting it together I had a few other ideas – so I’m still here…. I’m just tired :).  I have a rather minor but labor intensive project I’m working on for a new section of the site, an idea I had awhile ago that I’m just now getting to.. so I’ll have that in a week or so, depending on when I find some free time to just plow through it in a few hours-long sittings.  For now, though, I’m off to bed.

But hey, if you get REALLY bored, you could always watch The Anderson Bros..  It’ll change your life ;).

woah, i never thought of that.
    no rentals.
    that blows.
i’m surprised they don’t give you a dummy employee account at another store so you can still get them.
Then again, it’s blockbuster, so i’m not surprised.

They actually do offer that (along with an apparent 3 month severance which REALLY surprised me), but I figured that it would be a good weaning period from my weekly free rentals :). Plus, I still have my sister if I really want to try something free, like a game.
